JOSE BEDIA (La Habana, Cuba, 1959). Painter. Although his artistic formation was academic, his interest in primitive art soon changed the direction of his mode of expression. He lived in New York and in Sioux Indian reservations. At the present time, he lives and works in Miami. His work has been recognized as being among the most important of his generation, both locally and worldwide, and is exhibited in the United States, Europe and Latin America. The Sao Paulo and Venice biennials have acknowledged the quality of his work.
