Omar Carreno
  OMAR CARREÑO (Isla Margarita, Venezuela, 1927). Painter, sculptor and architect. He studied at the Plastic Arts School of Caracas and at the Louvre’s École des Arts. In 1951, he travels to Paris and exhibits his work atSalon Nouvelles and at Le Musée d’Art Moderne. In 1972, he participates in the Venice Biennial, where he is awarded Venezuela’s National Prize for Painting. In 1974, his association with the Durban Segnini Gallerycommences. In 1983, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Moncloa in Madrid organizes a retrospective exhibition in his honor. Member of the European Academy of Arts and Sciences.
